Small print: where our pages can fall short

Revised 21 October 2026 · Adults only

SmartphoneGambler writes about gambling products; it does not sell them, accept wagers or hold any gambling licence. Each page is a snapshot taken on the day it was written, and casino terms change more often than articles get revised. This page maps out where our content tends to slip out of date and which promises we deliberately do not make. Publisher: Linnetgate Media Ventures Limited, Waterport Place, 2 Europort Avenue, Gibraltar GX11 1AA.

The caveats in full

1. Information only

Nothing we publish counts as money, legal or tax guidance, and no system turns betting into an income. Every product we cover carries a built-in house edge or bookmaker margin; the strategies we explain can shape how you play but remove neither.

2. Offers belong to the operators

Bonus sizes, spin counts, wagering multiples, stake caps while wagering, qualifying games and expiry dates are each operator’s call, and some operators rewrite them overnight. Our summaries are shorter than the originals, which means a condition can drop out. You are bound only by the terms you accept on the operator’s own site.

3. Licences and legality

Every casino on our lists is authorised for British players by the Gambling Commission, and we quote its account number when we have it. A licence can be suspended or handed back between two of our checks, so search the Commission’s public register for the operator before depositing. Readers outside Great Britain face different laws, and whether online gambling is lawful in your country is yours to check, not ours.

4. Paid placement

Our lists are advertising. Only casinos under contract with our publisher appear, and the contract decides who sits where. Treat a top position as a paid spot rather than a recommendation; the arrangement is explained on how we are paid.

5. Withdrawal times and identity checks

The payout times we quote are the operator’s own claims. Expect a first withdrawal to pause for age, identity and affordability checks, and your bank may add processing days of its own on top.

6. Game figures

A return-to-player percentage describes how a game is built across millions of spins. A casino can legitimately run a lower-RTP version of the same slot, and across a single session the number tells you nothing about what will happen.

7. Tax

Under the rules that applied when we wrote our guides, UK players pay no tax on gambling winnings. Other countries treat winnings differently and rules can change, so ask HMRC or a qualified adviser when real money depends on the answer.

8. Links that leave the site

We link out to operators, regulators, charities and news sites for convenience, and some articles contain links placed by advertisers. Once you follow one, the content, safety and treatment of your data are matters for that site alone.

9. Free demos

Free-play slots are streamed from the game studios themselves. Demo credits cannot be cashed out, and a demo may not behave exactly like the real-money version.

10. Brand names and images

Logos, casino names and game screenshots remain with their makers. They appear so you can recognise what a review covers; that is not the same as those firms endorsing our words.

11. Our liability

We correct errors once someone flags them, but no publisher can vouch for every page being whole and current. Within the limits the law sets, Linnetgate Media Ventures Limited carries no liability if you lose money after relying on our pages in place of the operator’s terms, or because of something an operator did or failed to do. Your statutory protections as a consumer survive this clause in full.

12. Age

This is an adults-only site. In Great Britain you must be 18 to gamble, and operators verify age before letting anyone play for money. Under-18s should leave now, and parents can switch on parental controls that keep gambling sites off family phones.

If the fun runs out

Fix a spending cap ahead of each session, step away often, and treat a loss as money already spent rather than a debt to recover. One GAMSTOP registration shuts you out of every UK-licensed gambling site together. For a private chat about it, call GamCare’s National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 (free, 24 hours a day). Our responsible gambling page collects the other tools.
