The 2019 Rugby World Cup has reached the ultimate stage, and after six weeks of exciting rugby and a weekend of enthralling semi-finals, it is England who will battle it out with South Africa at the finals on Saturday. The match will be a repeat of the 2007 World Cup finals where South Africa beat England to lift the trophy.
About England
England ousted defending champions New Zealand 19-7 in a stunning, dominant style, to book a ticket to their first World Cup final in 12 years. They are the first team to inflict a defeat to the back-to-back world champions New Zealand in a World Cup match since France in 2007’s quarter-finals.
England goes into the game as clear favorites – after that win against the All Blacks, and will be looking to exact revenge on the Boks for the 2007 heartbreak. The Red Rose will be confident after watching the Boks toil hard against Wales in a dull display of one-dimensional play. They have the quality, intelligence, graft, and cohesion to produce a pulsating performance that would blow the South Africans away. The incredible quality in the likes of Owen Farell, George Ford, Manu Tuilagi, Maro Itoje, and others will be looking to take the game to the opponents.
England will be wary of the strength and aggression from the Boks’ pack and will be looking to match that at the breakdown, which will most likely determine whether they will be two-time world champions or not.

About South Africa
The Springboks edged past a battling Wales with a narrow, three-point margin in an underwhelming, dour match to set up the mouth-watering encounter. Warren Gatland’s men were left gutted after putting up a brave fight and coming from behind three times to level the score, only for Handre Pollard to drag the Boks to the final with a late penalty.
The Boks will at the very least have history on their side. Except for Australia in 1991, no team has eliminated New Zealand at the knockout stages and gone on to win the trophy. This could be attributed to the physical, mental, and, emotional drain a side goes through beating the rugby titans. The Boks will hope the seven days will not be enough for the bruised English unit to recover and possibly repeat the same levels of intensity. Also, England’s defense has not been convincing and was left exposed at times by Australia and New Zealand, making 14 and 12 clean breaks, respectively. The Boks will know they’ll have to make their attacks more expansive and take advantage of their dominating forwards to bombard the English defense.
