So, 2019 has all the ingredients to make it a vintage year for Baseball fans around the world. To help you get in the mood for the World Series here are our predictions for who’s going to come out on top and why…

MLB World Series 2019 Winner Prediction

We’re calling it folks. Could it just be the case that the Houston Astros win the next two games at Yankee Stadium? That could set up something pretty special for the guys from Texas.

If so we would then get to see Gerrit Cole oppose Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg or Anibal Sanchez in the World Series opener. What a prospect that is!

In his three postseason appearances, Gerrit Cole is 3-0 with 32 strikeouts. If the ALCS does not manage to reach Game 6 then it is highly likely that he will not pitch again until the Fall Classic.

However it plays out, the Huston Astros would call on Cole and Verlander to throw in four games. This would be very similar to their ALCS approach might just be. Remember that the Astro’s top two pitchers are 5-1 in the 2019 playoffs. Their only defeat came when Verlander threw on short rest in Game 4 of the ALDS, who can forget that!

We’re proposing that the pair are going to continue their dominant work and this will help to neutralise two of Washington’s four starters. Therefore that should give the Astros the edge and help them to victory in some low-scoring contests.

Just think about this. Houston needed seven runs to win Games 2 and 3 of the ALCS and ended up averaging five per game in their ALDS victories. This bodes very well going into the World Series.

Therefore our hot time for the 2019 World Series is for Houston to neutralise Washington’s strength with Cole and Verlander. This will be backed up by a strong outing from Greinke, Jose Urquidi.

If this all falls into place and the stars align for the Astros – then the World Series trophy could be headed to Houston for the second time in three seasons. Quite an incredible achievement by anyone standards.
