About Wales
Wales looks all but certain to finish top of Pool D with their recent victory over Fiji on Wednesday. The win gives them three wins out of three and the final match against the struggling Uruguayans looks like a formality when they line up on Sunday. It hasn’t been a walk in the park for the Welsh but they have managed to fend off all opposition teams so far, with the one performance against Australia really testing their nerve as they eventually came out 25-29 winners. A win on Sunday will put them against the runners-up of Pool C and that means either England or France, and on current form, we think it’s looking more like France as England are clear favorites for when they meet on Saturday. Either way, Wales will be high on confidence after surely taking maximum points from their first four games.
About Uruguay
The Uruguayans are propping up Pool D after three games and it doesn’t look like things will change after Sunday’s match either. It’s been a tough time for them since their opening win against Fiji. The loss against Georgia really brought them back down to earth and then in all fairness, they were not expected to take much from Australia. So that brings them to their final match against the Welsh who are flying high at the top. The quality of opposition has slowly been increasing and this Sunday is going to be their toughest test so far, but they have nothing to lose so it should be an entertaining match no matter which way you look at it.
What to expect from the game
Everyone is looking to the Welsh for the win and this means that you’ll find no value in backing them in the standard 1×2 markets.
All the bookies will have them down as clear favorites so that means you’re going to have to look a little deeper to find a bet worth backing with decent returns.
The one market that we’ve been looking into is the Handicap market where giving Uruguay at least 20 points should start to make betting on the match a little more enticing. Anything lower than a +20 handicap is still going to look a little pointless, so take a look below for some of the best odds found across the top bookies:

Best Odds
-
Back Uruguay to win with a +46 handicap at odds of 10/11 at William Hill.
- That’s a big mountain to climb for Wales and even more so if Uruguay get a few points on the scoreboard.
-
Back the draw with Wales -46 handicap at odds 22/1 with Betfair.
- The draw is a long shot but very possible considering the handicap, so it’s worth a small stake considering the odds.
