But what does the most exciting league in the world have in store for us during matchday five? In this weekend’s preview, we share a couple more English Premier League betting predictions which we think can pay dividends.
Saturday’s early kick off sees Leeds travel to Newcastle. Both sides have started much more slowly than they would have hoped for. The pair have conceded 23 goals between them after just four games, so hopefully the weekend will get off to an action-packed start.
But the tie of the round is undoubtedly the last one of the gameweek. Spurs play host to cross-city rivals Chelsea, as the visitors look to extend their unbeaten start to the 2024/22 EPL season. Other highlights include top-of-the-table Manchester United’s trip to West Ham, plus Leicester’s potentially tricky visit to the AMEX Community Stadium.

Odds and Predictions
The first of this weekend’s Premier League betting tips involves the weekend’s big fixture. As Spurs look to bounce back from a shock 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, Chelsea seek to extend their 100% record so far this EPL campaign.
Despite both sides being jam packed full of attacking talent, we can see the likes of Lukakau, Kane and Son failing to fire on Sunday. Chelsea have been rock solid at the back so far this term, conceding just a solitary goal. The hosts did ship three goals in EPL weekend four, but prior to that they had kept three clean sheets, including on the opening day against Manchester City.
That result will have been a wake up call to Nuno Espirito Santo. The former goalkeeper will surely spend the week’s training sessions shoring things up at the back. And with the Blues already looking tighter than a duck’s behind, the standout price of 1.83 (10bet) about Under 2.5 Goals looks tempting.

Wolves look to have had a poor start to the 2024/22 Premier League season on paper. But digging deeper into their fixtures, they actually had a tough opening set of matches. They finally got off the mark last weekend, beating strugglers Watford away from home. But prior to that they had faced Leicster, Manchester United and Tottentham, going down by a narrow 1-0 margin in all three fixtures.
Although the Bees have started their debut Premier League campaign extremely creditably, this is the perfect fixture for Wolves to build upon last weekend’s platform. So far this season, according to the Expected Goals metric, Wolves should have found the back of the net 7.19 times in their four matches. In reality, they’ve scored just twice.
In front of their own fans and with confidence growing, we can expect to see them greatly improve upon their xG numbers. At a best price of 1.95 (Betfred) against a side who have only created an xG figure of 4.46, this looks like a terrific bet.
