Another weekend of Premier League football is upon us, Liverpool look to push on and break the 100-point record that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City set in the 2017/18 season, whilst the tension around the relegation scrap increases.
All times are in UK Time
Watford’s victory over Norwich all but relegates the Canaries but provides a vital lifeline to the Hornets quest for survival. Manchester City’s fluctuating form continues as they lost their 9th league game of the season to Southampton before brushing past Newcastle on Wednesday evening.
Chelsea moved up into 3rd at the expense of Leicester as the Foxes were held to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates while Chelsea edged out Palace in a five-goal thriller at Selhurst Park. Man United and Wolves remain hot on the heels in the race for next seasons Champions League, whilst Arsenal’s dropped points ends any slight glimmer of hope.
What are the tipsters predicting?
Tottenham vs Arsenal
As English derbies go, they don’t come much bigger, or more action-packed than the North London derby. Neither team will be happy with how their seasons have panned out but the pride of North London is at stake.
Whoever comes out on top of this game will head into the final three fixtures above their bitter rival; it’s all to play for. Arsenal will be buoyed by the emergence of Bukayo Saka, and the consistent goal-scoring form of star-striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whilst Spurs will look to a resurgent Giovani Lo Celso to help dominate midfield and hope Harry Kane can replicate his early-season finishing.
Both sides will look to bolster their defence over the summer, so it might be safe to say we’re expecting both fireworks and goals.
